Social Media Under the Microscope
The DS-160 and the DS-260 forms for consular processing have a new question asking applicants to enter their social media handles for the past 10 years; you can include your Facebook, Instagram and even MySpace. We recommend that anyone going through any type of immigration process be aware and cautious of what they’re posting on social media. Nothing seems to be off limits.
Changes at the San Ysidro Point of Entry
As of June 5, 2019 at the San Ysidro point of entry, US Border Patrol agents are now stationed when crossing into Mexico before reaching the Mexican Border Patrol check point. Booths like these have been seen at other ports of entry but this is new for folks crossing from San Diego to Tijuana. Pictures are being taken of those who cross into Mexico, instead of just those who enter the US. The level of militarization we’ve bee seeing at the US/Mexico border is unprecedented though not surprising.
